Wednesday Season 2

Filming of Wednesday’s Season 2 begins in April 2024. Jenna is not only continuing to play the titular role but she is also wearing a second hat as Executive Producer.

From the red carpet at the 75th Emmy Awards, Jenna dropped a few hints about what we can expect:

“What I can say—I’ve received some scripts now for the second season. We’re definitely leaning into a little bit more horror but it’s really really exciting because all throughout the show while Wednesday does need a bit of an arc, she never really changes and that’s the wonderful thing about her. There’s some really good one-liners and I think everything’s bigger. It’s a lot more action-packed. I think that each episode will feel a bit more like a movie, which is nice.”

Death of a Unicorn

Death of a Unicorn is an upcoming American dark comedy film written and directed by Alex Scharfman. Jenna stars opposite Paul Rudd.

PLOT: A man and his teenage daughter accidentally crash into a unicorn while they are en route to a crisis management summit with his bosses, Dell Leopold and his family. The Leopolds seize the unicorn, and their scientists discover that its flesh, blood, and, most of all, its horn are endowed with supernaturally curative properties, which the Leopolds seek to exploit. However, as they delve deeper into their research, they discover the deadly consequences of their actions.

Alba

Alba is produced by Margot Robbie’s production company, Luckychap Entertainment, in partnership with A24. Jenna stars in the lead role and is joined by Camila Mendes, who is best known for her role as Veronica Lodge on Riverdale and Drea Torres in Do Revenge. Also starring in Alba will be Danny Ramirez, who recently appeared in “Top Gun: Maverick.”

PLOT: The film is a modernized adaptation of the play “The House of Bernarda Alba” by Federico Garcia Lorca. Its Wikipedia page contains a full summary.

Winter Spring Summer or Fall

Jenna stars opposite Percy Hynes White (who plays Xavier on Wednesday). She will also be an Executive Producer of this film.

PLOT: A sweet teen love story about Remi Aguilar, a Harvard-bound girl genius and Barnes Hawthorne, a laid-back music-obsessed guy who find each other in their final year of high school.

Winter Spring Summer Or Fall is reportedly “loaded with classic tropes like the meet cute, prom and, of course, that climactic sprint.” The movie’s world premiere is at the Tribeca Film Festival beginning on June 5, 2024.

Untitled

Jenna joins Oscar-nominated The Banshees of Inisherin actor Barry Keoghan in a project directed by Trey Edward Shults, the filmmaker behind Waves and It Comes at Night. Abel Tesfaye (formerly The Weeknd), who co-wrote and produced, also stars in the film. The film was shot in Los Angeles.

PLOT: We now believe that the film is going to be a loose remake of the 1990 film Misery. See JennaFan’s article on this one.

Klara and the Sun

Klara and the Sun is a screenplay based on the eighth novel by the Nobel Prize-winning British writer Kazuo Ishiguro. Jenna plays the titular role in a production directed by Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit) and written by Dahvi Waller. Filming is set for the spring of 2024, with a likely release in late fall.

PLOT: The dystopian story is set in a future in which some children are genetically engineered (“lifted”) for enhanced academic ability. As schooling is provided entirely at home by on-screen tutors, opportunities for socialization are limited and parents who can afford it often buy their children androids as companions. The book is narrated by one such Artificial Friend (AF) called Klara. Although Klara is exceptionally intelligent and observant, her knowledge of the world is limited. She is chosen by fourteen-year-old Josie, a sickly child who lives with her mother in a remote prairie region. Klara sets about trying to save Josie and her mother from a life of heartbreak.
